Web sites don't have to be cluttered to be effective

Paso Robles Truck Center's web site is clean and easy to read with obvious links. Yet in a few pages it covers all the service PRTC provides.  Take a look at Paso Robles Truck Center

PRTC provides service for all trucks, buses, large RVs, tractors and some farm equipment. Their towing service is available 24/7 and will bring you back to Paso Robles from anywhere!

This site was created with cooperation between USAMotorHost and PRTC with photos coming from both companies. Copy, design, graphics and basic Inbound Marketing were created by USAMH.  Like all our sites the pages are centered with attractive backgrounds to fill any size monitor.

Onsite today, gone tomorrow!

USAMotorHost just completed another onsite project. Division One Consulting. This is what we do best! We arrived in our office

on Monday and interviewed the client. The site was created and reviewed the next day. A few more changes, another review on Wednesday morning and the project was 100% complete.

No waiting, no lost time, no deposits, no termination fees, no charges until a page is complete.

We used to hear "High Quality, Fast Delivery, Lost Cost - choose any two!"  We just broke the mold on this site with all three.

Google Plus

Google offers so many services that it is hard to keep up with them.  For a while Google Places was available. Google Places is where you can load in text and photos about your company and then be found when visitors search for your type of business.  Here are the results when you search for Atascadero California Eye Doctor.

Now the searcher can see locations of the eye doctors and click on their Google Places listings. Google Plus has replaced Google Places but the results are the same.  It is easy to create a Google Plus account. In fact many times, Google will have already done that for you. They will list your company name, address and phone (right or wrong!).  Have your web designer enhance the listing with business categories, area coverage, photos, hours and description of your products or services.

It is easy, attracts traffic and because it is from Google, it ranks high on page one!

Why have a company website?

Websites are published for many reasons.  How does your company fit in?

1. Customer Contact Information -Replacement for the Yellow Pages. Today, a great many consumers no longer use a telephone book or paper yellow pages. Any company in the future will need to have some presence on the Web.  At a minimum you need to have your Company Name, Address, Phone Number, Email Address and a description of your product or service.  Google Places (now Google Plus) does provide free information as stated above. In fact, your company is probably already listed and you should access your Google account and update it with accurate information.

2. Customer Product Information: Simple web sites can be used to display your products. Perhaps you want to let consumers know what you have but you are not ready to sell online or even price online. Simply knowing the category of products you have can attract customers to your business.

3. Customer Support Informaton: More and more companies are posting their user manuals, technical manuals and FAQs online for customers to access and solve their own problems.  This is how our company MattsonExpress.com began on the Web.  We post our complete OmegaSeries Business Software manual online. This eliminates paper, mailing and out-of-date documents. As soon as a document is created or updated, it goes onto our web site.

4. Employee Information: For companies with multiple locations or employees working from remote sites this is an efficient way to communicate with current or even future employees.

5. Company Branding: New companies or companies starting a new division use web sites to promote their new brand. The site may not be trying to sell the product, but just get the word out.

6. News/Blogs: Blogging is huge today. You can find a blog (web log) about anything today. And most are free, giving advice on everything you can dream up.  Our blog Blog.BigRigBible.com is brand new and  used to make announcements and give opinions or advice about Full Time RV Living.

7. Subscriptions: Paper is fast disappearing and people are reading their periodicals online. Our site www.BigRigBible.com is only $25 for the first year. It directs readers to every diesel motorhome manufacturer and all the information one needs to become a Full Time (or part time) RV traveler.

8. Commerical Shopping Cart: A great number of business either have no retail building or sell online in addition to their "brick and mortar" location.  Shopping carts are easily added to any web site to not only inform consumers about your products, but allow them to purchase your product online and have it shipped to them.

There a thousand other ways to use the web.  The bottom line is get on the Web or lose customers!

Our goal is websites with a clear message

When USAMotorHost.com creates a new web site, our goal is to provide a site with a clear message.  It should have the following attributes:

  • Immediately confirm the site matches a viewers search.
  • Clearly communicate the products and services offered.
  • All important contact information will show without scrolling.
  • Be a beautiful piece of art that leads your eye to the center of interest.
  • Be unique for the business featured; use no templates.
  • One instance of clear links not multiple locations for the same link.
  • Not look like the "ads in the Sunday paper".
  • Not use irritating features such as auto scrolling photos, hidden rollover pop-ups, etc.
  • Use large, easy to read fonts with short but good sentence structure.
An example of this is our latest project. Shown here is the home page; linked pages are coming soon. Check it out at www.DrChaffe.com.
